ESA BIC Barcelona: November 2026 application deadline

ESA BIC Barcelona is the European Space Agency Business Incubation Centre in Barcelona. It supports young startups that use space technology. The next deadline for proposals is November 13, 2026 at 23:59 CET.

Selected startups get 60,000 EUR of non equity funding. They also get technical support, business coaching, legal and IPR support, office space at the RDIT building in Castelldefels, and the right to use the ESA BIC brand.

Companies must be less than 5 years old and based in Catalonia, with a viable business plan. Firms with only a branch in Catalonia should contact the centre first. The project needs a strong space connection.

Downstream projects use space systems or space technology on Earth, for example satellite navigation, Earth observation or satellite communication, or transfer space hardware, software or knowledge to other fields. Upstream projects bring new technology to launches, satellites, ground systems or human spaceflight.

To apply, first contact the centre manager to present your project. Then download the open call documents and prepare a cover letter, a business plan and an incubation proposal. Send the files by email to esabic.barcelona@pmt.es with the subject "ESA BIC Barcelona Application" and your startup name. The centre offers one coaching session to help with the application.

After a formal check, shortlisted teams pitch to an evaluation board. Approved startups sign an incubation contract and start the programme.
