Anthropic open call for guest investigators in the life sciences 2026

Anthropic invites life science research groups to work with its researchers for 8 to 12 weeks, with models and compute at no cost. Applications are open for about 14 days from October 22, 2026.

Anthropic's open call for guest investigators invites life science researchers to work directly with Anthropic researchers on a problem from their own field. Each collaboration runs for 8 to 12 weeks, and some projects may be extended.

Anthropic runs its models and tools for the project at no cost to the guest investigators. The two teams produce analyses, artifacts and tools, publish them together and release the data and code as open source. Investigators keep the rights to their data and to any independent follow on research.

Principal investigators and their groups at academic institutions, nonprofits and government labs can apply. The call covers causal human biology, structural and computational molecular biology, medicinal chemistry, drug discovery and clinical science.

Anthropic looks for applicants who can explain how they would benefit from working with its researchers, and who can make a fair case that their results can be produced within the 8 to 12 week period. Applications should use only public information.

Anthropic says applications will be open for about 14 days from 22 October 2026, and it aims to tell selected people by email about 14 days after applications close.
