Tari October Build Contest 2026: Spooky Secrets
The Tari Council pays 1,000,000 XTM for the best new privacy project on Ootle. Entries close at 00:00 UTC on 1 November 2026.
The Tari October Build Contest is the October round of the Ootle launch contests run by the Tari Council. The theme, posted on 1 October 2026, is Spooky Secrets. The council wants a demonstration of Tari's privacy features. First place is 1,000,000 XTM, second place is 500,000 XTM, and third place is 250,000 XTM. The same three prizes apply to each monthly contest in this series.
The code must be new as of the theme announcement. September was the only month that accepted older projects. A new repository with new code is what counts. A new smart contract or a library that other people can use can also count. The source must be public under an OSI approved license such as MIT, Apache, or AGPL. Council members and Tari Labs employees cannot enter. On 2 October the council said development with coding agents is allowed, and that judges may still look at code quality.
You enter by replying once on the October contest thread. The post needs a public link to the code or the app, a description, a Tari payment address, and a link to a public announcement on Bluesky or Reddit. The October thread names those two platforms specifically. The council said a throwaway Reddit account is accepted in r/tari.
The cutoff is 00:00 UTC on 1 November 2026, which is the start of the next month. The council reviews the entries and announces winners the following month. They judge how well the project fits the theme.
