TheDAO Security Fund ETHSecurity Initiatives Round Two 2026

TheDAO Security Fund pays for Ethereum security work, with initiatives of $20,000 to $600,000. Round Two opened September 15, 2026 and ends in January 2027.

ETHSecurity Initiatives is the second funding round of TheDAO Security Fund. The fund pays for work that makes Ethereum safer. The round opened on September 15, 2026 at initiatives.thedao.fund.

The round works as a public list of security work. There are two kinds of initiatives. A request for proposals sets a budget and draft milestones but has no team yet. A grant names the team up front because it already has a head start. At launch the list held initiatives from $20,000 to $600,000, among them a formally verified Vyper compiler and community fuzzing tools.

Anyone can propose an initiative. You connect a wallet, fill in the form and wait a few days for the team to review it. When a request for proposals is fully funded, a 30 day window opens and any qualified team can bid. A named grant team has 15 days to file its final plan.

Funding comes from direct donations, company pledges and the fund's treasury. In mid November, the 200 ETHSecurity Badge holders rank the initiatives that are not yet fully funded, and the top ones are completed from the treasury. The round ends at the end of January 2027, and initiatives left unfunded close with it.

Every initiative must put at least a third of its budget behind an adoption milestone, such as named users or real integrations. The first milestone can be paid up to 50% in advance, and each milestone is paid within 14 days of acceptance by an independent reviewer.
