The Victorian Production Fund Games is a VicScreen fund for Victorian studios and key creatives. It supports the development and release of digital games for PC, consoles, mobile, VR, AR and XR. The page says applications are now open.
The fund covers preproduction, production and post release stages. It gives up to A$300,000 per stage and up to A$500,000 per project. The equity in the project stays with the company or individual.
Applicants must contribute at least half of the stage budget through in kind work, cash or other funding. Companies must have operated in Victoria for at least six months. Individuals must be Australian citizens or permanent residents who have lived in Victoria for at least six months.
You can apply at any time through the VicScreen portal and should hear back within 8 to 10 weeks. Games with gambling, exploitative pay to win or play to earn mechanics are not eligible, and neither are games made mainly for education, training or marketing.
VicScreen says it looks for original IP with clear paths to investment and to market.
