Ontario Creates Futures Forward Program 2026
Ontario Creates gives new game and XR studios in Ontario up to CAD 20,000 for early project development. Apply by 30 November 2026.
The Ontario Creates Futures Forward Program 2026 funds early stage, project related development. It is aimed at companies that often have barriers to getting project funding. The program also covers film and series projects, and its interactive stream covers video games and VR.
The grant is the lesser of CAD 20,000 or 75% of the project's eligible costs. On the interactive side it targets new companies led by people with under three years of professional game or XR experience, and companies moving into games or XR from other industries.
Applicants must be for profit companies. The owner or lead producer must have completed the Ontario Creates Futures Forward Workshop in 2026, or an approved workshop or course between 1 January 2025 and 31 October 2026. The project must be new and must not have received and spent other development funding for the phase it proposes.
Applications go through the Ontario Creates online portal. The deadline is 30 November 2026 at 5:00 pm ET.
Online information sessions take place on 28 October and 5 November 2026. A French session can be requested at ipfund@ontariocreates.ca before 26 October 2026.
