Spain's grants for the internationalisation of video games, podcasts and digital culture 2026
Spain's Ministry of Culture offers up to €100,000 per project to Spanish nonprofits that take the video game sector to international markets. Apply by 29 October 2026.
The Ministerio de Cultura in Spain has opened its 2026 call of grants for the internationalisation of video games, podcasts and digital culture. The aim is to help Spanish cultural companies and professionals reach and take part in international markets. The call was published in the Boletín Oficial del Estado on 7 October 2026.
The total budget is €1,000,000. Each project can receive up to €100,000. The grant covers up to 80% of the project cost when the request is up to €50,000, and up to 60% when the request is higher. The grants fall under the EU de minimis state aid rules.
Only nonprofit legal entities with tax residence in Spain can apply. Individuals, public administrations and their bodies, public companies, for profit entities, AIE groupings and UTE joint ventures are excluded. In practice this means associations and other nonprofits that organise international activity for the sector, not individual studios.
Funded activities must promote the international reach of digital culture. This covers video games in all formats, fiction podcasts and podcasts on cultural topics, and the use of extended reality and other technology for artistic or cultural purposes. The ministry wants to raise the visibility of the Spanish video game industry abroad, attract foreign investment, support the international mobility of cultural professionals and build skills for taking creative projects abroad.
Applications go through the ministry's online service. The window runs from 8 October 2026 at 00:01 to 29 October 2026 at 23:59. Questions about the procedure go to ayudas.industriasculturales@cultura.gob.es.
