Rocket Pool Round 42 GMC retrospective awards

Rocket Pool Round 42 pays retrospective awards for completed open source work. Apply by 7 November 2026 at 23:59 UTC.

Rocket Pool Round 42 is the Grants Management Committee call for retrospective awards for work done before this award period. The application window is 7 October 2026 to 7 November 2026. Only applications posted in the official retrospective thread and timestamped by 7 November 2026 at 23:59 UTC count. Later posts move to the next period.

A retrospective award recognises a project or piece of work that is already finished. If the project is still going, the award covers only the work completed before this period. Future work on the same project should be a separate grant application. The applicant names the USD amount they want. The committee has not set a fixed award size.

The template asks whether the work is entirely open source under a licence such as MIT, GPL, Apache, or CC BY. If not, the application should say which parts are not and why. The committee scores how far the completed work furthered its goals: making it easier or more attractive to become a node operator, run a node and mint rETH, hold or use rETH, and improve life for the protocol and its community.

Copy the template into a reply on the thread. Questions belong in the Round 42 community discussion thread. Scoring is due 24 November 2026. Finalisation runs 25 to 28 November 2026. Awards are due to be announced on 29 November 2026.

Quick answers

Can an ongoing project apply?

The award covers work completed before this period. Later work on the same project should be a separate grant application.

Does the work need an open licence?

The template asks whether the work is entirely open source under MIT, GPL, Apache, CC BY, or a similar licence. If not, explain which parts are not and why.

Do I have to discuss the idea in Discord first?

No. The committee welcomes a conversation in the GMC channel before you post, but it is not required.
