The Iliad Fellowship is a mentored research fellowship in applied mathematics for AI alignment. The December 2026 cohort runs full time and in person for 14 weeks, from December 1, 2026 to March 5, 2027.
Fellows receive a $6,000 USD travel and housing allowance for each month of the fellowship. Each fellow is paired with an established research mentor and works on research of their own.
The fellowship is aimed at researchers with strong mathematical backgrounds, typically PhD students, postdocs, or people with equivalent research experience. Iliad says the degree itself is not a hard requirement. Taking the Iliad Intensive first is not required.
One Iliad form covers both the Intensive and the Fellowship. The form lists the December 2026 Fellowship for London or San Francisco, and the Iliad calendar names Lighthaven as the venue.
