VicScreen Originate Games 2026/27

VicScreen Originate Games gives Victorian game developers A$10,000 to A$50,000 plus mentoring for early stage concepts. Apply by October 18, 2026.

VicScreen Originate Games 2026/27 funds original early stage game concepts from developers in Victoria, Australia. VicScreen says the program focuses on new voices and new projects, and gives developers room to try ideas through prototyping, industry mentoring and early audience feedback.

Grants range from A$10,000 to A$50,000 and can cover some or all of the budget for this stage. The money can pay for costs tied directly to early concept or prototype work, including reasonable hardware costs. It cannot pay for marketing, community management or business development. Funded teams also get access to industry mentors.

You can apply as a Victorian company or a Victorian resident who has been based in and working from Victoria for at least six months before the application. The project must be an original digital game at concept or early stage, and creatively driven by you. Projects under consideration for the Victorian Production Fund Games are not eligible. Neither are projects linked to gambling, exploitative pay to win or play to earn mechanics, or games made mainly for education, training, marketing or other business audiences.

VicScreen is looking for projects that bring diverse and underrepresented backgrounds, new approaches to game design, or new approaches to audiences. Assessors look at the team, the design and development plan, the expected outcomes, and diversity, equity and inclusion.

Applications opened on September 23, 2026 and close at 11.59pm on October 18, 2026. You apply through an online form in the My VicScreen portal, with the documents listed in the application checklist. Applicants can expect an outcome by December 18, 2026.
