Three kinds of support are available. Concept development gets up to €30,000 for a first or second project and €40,000 for experienced studios, over a period of four months. Prototype development gets grants up to €200,000 that cover 80 percent of costs, or interest free loans up to €350,000 that cover 70 percent. Production gets interest free loans up to €500,000, capped at 50 percent of the budget. First and second projects can receive up to 70 percent of eligible costs in production, capped at €250,000.
Applicants must be individuals, legal entities or partnerships that work professionally and full time. They need a registered office, a business premise or a branch office in Bavaria. A project may start early, as soon as the application has been submitted.
Applications can only be submitted through the FFF Bayern online portal. Questions go to the games team at FFF Bayern.
The fund says it looks for high quality games with cultural or educational value that strengthen the games industry in Bavaria and support innovation.
