Bittensor Global Subnet Hackathon
10,000 USD in prizes for teams that design and build a Bittensor subnet on testnet. Registration and submissions run until October 19, 2026.
The Bittensor Global Subnet Hackathon is an online hackathon hosted on HackQuest with 10,000 USD available in prizes. First place receives 5,000 USD, second place 3,000 USD and third place 2,000 USD. It is aimed at Bittensor developers, AI researchers, ML engineers and Web3 builders.
Projects must show a credible subnet concept and progress toward a working Bittensor testnet implementation. This means a meaningful problem, defined miner tasks, a validator evaluation mechanism, incentive logic, working implementations and evidence that the mechanism functions as intended.
Registration and submission opened on August 21, 2026 and close on October 19, 2026. The first checkpoint, a subnet proposal, is due on September 20. Final submissions and demos are due on October 19, and rewards are announced on October 31, 2026.
Judges look at mechanism and incentive design, technical implementation, miner and validator architecture, evaluation and scoring quality, problem and market relevance, value to the Bittensor ecosystem, and scalability and long term potential.
