Indie Fund
Indie Fund is a group of experienced game makers that funds independent game projects, most often with $10,000 to $50,000. Applications are open at any time and need a playable prototype.
Indie Fund is a funding source for independent game projects. It is run by a collective of experienced game makers who want to support the next wave of developers. So far 55 games have received funding from its 17 investors.
Indie Fund is a syndicate of investors, not a publisher. Individual investors review the applications and present promising projects to the other investors, who then raise the requested amount together. The most common range is $10,000 to $50,000. Amounts between $50,000 and $100,000 are less common, and anything above $100,000 is rare and usually needs a second funding source.
Applications are open at any time through an online form. You need a playable prototype, for Windows and macOS if possible. The form asks for a project description with one to four screenshots and a gameplay video, a budget breakdown that includes marketing and PR, information about the team and an estimated ship date.
Indie Fund does not promise a reply. If you have not heard back within a week, there is probably not enough interest among the investors.
The fund looks for a clear and concise description, a realistic and detailed budget backed by a spreadsheet, and a team or solo developer with relevant experience.
