SEMI Foundation Chip the Future Challenge 2026 to 2027
SEMI Foundation runs a global student competition in semiconductor research and innovation with $10,000 in prizes per track. Abstracts are due October 31, 2026.
This is the first edition of the competition. It runs virtually across eight regions, with one regional winner per region and track going to a global ranking.

Requirements:
- Work grounded in original research or an active university or laboratory project
- Commercial products already on the market and purely theoretical proposals are not eligible
- Submissions in English, with code and design files documented
Timeline:
- Finalists announced December 1, 2026
- Full submissions due January 24, 2027
- Regional finals and global ranking in February 2027
- Winners announced March 31, 2027
