NOSTRADAMUS Open Call #1 2026: open source farm data apps

Up to €50,000 for small companies to build open source decision tools for cereal farming on NOSTRADAMUS data. Five projects. Apply by 2 December 2026.

NOSTRADAMUS Open Call #1 funds small companies that build open source digital applications for farm decision making and agribusiness. NOSTRADAMUS is a Horizon Europe project that runs national Open Data Cubes, Earth Observation data pipelines, IoT sensor streams and socio economic data sets. Selected teams build on this infrastructure.

Five projects will be selected, each with a fixed lump sum of up to €50,000 for 12 months. The total budget is €250,000. Payment comes in four parts linked to four sprints: training (10%), design (25%), development and validation (40%) and demonstration and assessment (25%). Teams also get access to the project data, pilot sites, mentoring and technical support.

The call has five topics: sustainable cereal crop production, nutrient and soil health, water efficiency and drought resilience, pest and disease management, and an open topic that combines at least two of the others. At least one project per topic will be funded.

A single applicant must be an SME, start up or small mid cap. A consortium can have at most two legal entities and must be led by a business. Applicants must be based in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe associated country. Funded teams must release their code as open source, run at least one user training session and write a practice abstract for EIP-AGRI.

Applications are open from 29 September to 2 December 2026 at 17:00 CET on the F6S platform. Two external experts score each proposal on alignment, excellence, impact and implementation. The top three per topic are invited to a short online pitch before the final selection.
