ETH AI Center Postdoctoral Fellowship 2027
ETH AI Center postdoctoral fellowships in Zurich pay CHF 92,500 in year one and CHF 97,200 in year two for AI research. Apply by 27 October 2026.
The ETH AI Center Postdoctoral Fellowship funds two years of interdisciplinary AI research at ETH Zurich. The center offers 8 to 12 postdoctoral positions for 2027. The start date is flexible but usually in September 2027.
The salary is CHF 92,500 in the first year and CHF 97,200 in the second year, and the step up is automatic. Each fellow works on a project they propose and is supervised by two professors from different fields with equal weight. Fellows have their main office at the ETH AI Center. An optional entrepreneurial or industry track gives practical experience in turning research into products or companies.
Applicants must hold a PhD or finish it at least 3 months before the fellowship begins, and by June 2027 at the latest. A background in AI fields or in computer science, physics, engineering or applied mathematics is expected. English must be good enough to discuss research with colleagues and write up findings.
Applications go only through the online portal. Email or postal applications are not considered. The center asks candidates to read the postdoc guidelines and FAQ first. Contacting professors before applying is not required.
The deadline is 27 October 2026 at 16:00 CET. Shortlisted candidates are invited to a postdoctoral symposium on 28 and 29 January 2027. Invitations go out by the middle of January, and fellowship offers are sent by the end of March 2027.
