The Pivotal Research AI Safety Fellowship Q1 2027 is a 15 week, full time research fellowship held in person at LISA in London. It runs from 18 January to 30 April 2027.
Fellows work on a project with an external mentor and get weekly support from a Pivotal research manager. Projects cover technical safety, technical governance and AI governance.
The stipend is £15,000 to £18,000, with the higher amount for Senior Fellows. Fellows from outside London also get £1,800 a month for housing. Compute, travel and weekday meals are covered.
Anyone 18 or older can apply. Applicants must apply to at least one mentor. The process is a written application, a short video interview, a work task set by the mentor and a personal interview.
