GameBCN 12 incubation program for game studios

GameBCN 12 is a free six month online incubation program for game teams, with a €3,000 grant, mentoring and a demo day. Apply by 31 December 2026.

GameBCN 12 is the twelfth edition of the GameBCN incubation program, run from Barcelona. The open call for applications runs until 31 December 2026, and the program starts in mid February.

The program lasts about six months and has two modules of three months each. The first covers production and agile methods. The second covers marketing and business, including how to pitch a game. Teams get 60 hours of training, 36 hours of mentoring and a weekly production follow up.

Selected teams receive a €3,000 grant. The organizer also lists a demo day with publishers, representation at gamescom and Tokyo Game Show, and a booth at Saga Barcelona Game Fest. GameBCN says its incubated teams have a publishing agreement ratio above 45%.

The program is not full time. Teams can expect to spend 4 to 6 hours a week on it. It runs online, so teams do not need to move to Barcelona.

Teams must be active and working on a game. At least one member must attend the trainings, and teams must attend official events such as Opening Day and Demo Day. Partners and promoters of GameBCN have the right to make a counteroffer before a team signs an investment or publishing deal with a third party.

Applications go through the online form on the GameBCN website. It asks for studio and team details, a gameplay video, a build link and market information. Experts score the applications, and around 15 teams are invited to pitch online before the final selection.
