Nucleate Activator 2027 cohort
Nucleate Activator is a free, equity free program for early biotech founders. Apply for the 2027 cohort by 20 October 2026 (US chapters).
The Nucleate Activator is open for its 2027 cohort. Nucleate calls it its flagship program for early biotech founders. The program is free, and Nucleate does not take equity.
The program starts with team formation in October 2026, where scientists, business trainees and early professionals are matched into teams. Strategy support with industry mentors, legal guidance and clinical consulting starts in January 2027. Workshops and private seminars run from February to May 2027. The program ends with a demo day in May or June 2027 in front of mentors, entrepreneurs and investors.
Nucleate looks for life sciences projects that have preliminary proof of concept data and have not received significant equity funding. Applicants need approval from their principal investigator, existing IP or a clear path to file it within a year, and a team that plans to spin out. Therapeutics, platform technologies, diagnostics and medical devices are named as fitting areas. Teams should get consent from their tech transfer office.
The Activator runs in person in many regions, including the Bay Area, Boston, New York, Texas, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Israel and Australia. A Global Virtual Activator is offered where there is no local chapter. The expected time commitment is 5 to 10 hours a week.
Applications go through the Nucleate Gateway. The deadline for US chapters is 20 October 2026. Deadlines for international chapters vary, so applicants outside the US should check with their local chapter.
