The Apple Developer Academy @ POSTECH is recruiting its 2027 cohort. It is a full time, on site program of nine months in Pohang, South Korea, running from 8 March to December 2027. Learners build apps for Apple platforms such as iOS, macOS, iPadOS, watchOS and visionOS with Swift, and also study design, app marketing and business.
The academy FAQ says all programs are fully funded by scholarships, so there is no tuition. Each learner gets a monthly stipend of KRW 1.1 million, which can change from year to year. Learners can use a MacBook, an iPhone and shared equipment for free, and get Apple Developer Program membership during the program. On campus housing costs about KRW 200,000 a month and is paid by the learner.
Anyone aged 19 or over on 1 March 2027 who has no restrictions on overseas travel can apply. Major, job and nationality do not matter, and no programming or design experience is required. Most sessions are in Korean, so international applicants must be fluent in Korean, and the academy does not give visa support. About 200 learners are selected each year.
Apply through the online portal by 9 December 2026 at 1:00 PM Korean time. All applicants then take an online test between 11 and 13 December 2026. It is not a coding test. The interview shortlist is announced on 16 December, online group interviews run from 19 to 21 January 2027, and the final result comes on 26 January 2027.
The academy says it looks for people who want to build their own area of expertise, who want to find real problems and design solutions for users, and who like to work with people from different backgrounds. In the application it asks why you want to join, what you have done before, and what you want to achieve.
