BlueDot Impact Career Transition Grants
BlueDot Impact gives up to $200,000 to people moving full time into AI safety or biosecurity work. Applications are open on a rolling basis.
The Career Transition Grant from BlueDot Impact pays up to $200,000 to someone who is ready to work full time on moving into AI safety or biosecurity. The grant covers the cost of that time, and BlueDot adds regular check ins, advising, introductions to relevant experts and access to a group of people making the same move.
BlueDot asks applicants to show relevant ability or recent progress in the field. Taking a BlueDot course first is not required. The form takes about 45 minutes to fill in. BlueDot states that it cannot fund people based in Russia, China or India, and asks anyone unsure about that to get in touch before applying.
There is no deadline. Applications are reviewed as they arrive.
This program grew larger in September 2026. On September 4, 2026 Coefficient Giving, the funder previously called Open Philanthropy, wrote on its own career development and transition funding page that it had handed that program over to BlueDot Impact, made BlueDot a grant to support the work, and that people seeking funding to enter or move into AI safety, biosecurity or related areas should now apply through BlueDot.
