AWS Activate credits for startups
AWS gives startups up to $200,000 in cloud credits for infrastructure, data services and AI models. Applications are open all year and answers come in 5 to 10 business days.
AWS Activate gives startups credits to offset the cost of AWS infrastructure, data services and AI models. The programme runs all year and there is no application deadline.
There are three levels. Activate Founders is for self funded startups and starts at $1,000 in credits, with selected participants qualifying for up to $5,000. Activate Portfolio is for pre Series B startups and goes up to $200,000, but it needs an Organization ID from an Activate Provider such as an accelerator, incubator or venture fund. A third level, AWS Credits for AI Startups, offers more than $200,000 and is invite only for companies that have already used the Portfolio tier.
To qualify, a startup must be pre Series B, founded within the last 10 years, and hold an AWS account on a paid tier plan. It must also be new to Activate Credits, or be asking for more credits than it has received before.
Applying takes four steps: create an AWS Builder ID, choose a tier, give details about the startup, then link the AWS account and submit. AWS says it answers in 5 to 10 business days.
All credits are in US dollars and are covered by the AWS Promotional Credit Terms and Conditions.
