R Consortium ISC Grant Program: second 2026 round
The R Consortium funds technical and social infrastructure projects for the R community through its ISC Grant Program. The second 2026 round closes October 1, 2026.
The R Consortium ISC Grant Program is taking proposals for the second technical grant cycle of 2026. The application period opened on September 1 and closes on October 1, 2026 at 11:59 pm US Eastern time.
The Infrastructure Steering Committee funds technical infrastructure, such as R packages, tools and development work, and social infrastructure projects for the R community. It does not fund conference sponsorship, hardware purchases or highly exploratory research. Grant amounts are not stated on the program page.
Applicants write a proposal of 2 to 5 pages using the template in the R Consortium GitHub repository, export it as a PDF and submit it through the Google Form linked on the program page. A Google account is needed for the form.
The committee contacts accepted grantees on November 1, 2026. Grantees must accept the grant and contract by December 1, 2026. Public notification follows shortly after, and accepted projects are published on the R Consortium blog.
The committee says it looks for broad impact on the R community, a focused scope with clear deliverables, and low to medium risk with demonstrable value. Questions go to proposal@r-consortium.org.
