eBPF Foundation Community and Advocacy Fellowship 2026
A six month fellowship with a stipend of $1,500 USD per month for people who write documentation, tutorials and translations or organize community work around eBPF. Applications close on September 11, 2026.
The eBPF Foundation is accepting applications for its 2026 Community and Advocacy Fellowship. Fellows receive a monthly stipend of $1,500 USD for six months. The Foundation also offers institutional support and will share the fellows' work through its own channels.
The fellowship is for active members of the eBPF community who want to spend focused time on education, documentation, translation, outreach and advocacy. Examples of projects include tutorials, documentation improvements, translations, workshops and community advocacy.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of the award. People from all regions and backgrounds can apply. Applicants must not be paid to work on eBPF full time, and they should have an existing record of contributions to the eBPF ecosystem through code, content or community involvement.
Applications are open from August 7 to September 11, 2026 through a form linked from the fellowship page.
Fellows set project milestones and complete them over six months, share progress updates with the community, and publish two blog posts about their fellowship experience and outcomes. Code should be open source and upstreamed where possible, and educational materials must be public. Fellows sign a contractor agreement with The Linux Foundation and submit monthly invoices.
