SMART Eureka Call 10 2026: funding for international advanced manufacturing projects
SMART Call 10 labels international R&D projects in advanced manufacturing for national grants or loans. Project outlines are due 26 January 2027.
SMART Call 10 is the 2026 call for projects of SMART, the Eureka Cluster for advanced manufacturing. It supports international research and innovation collaborations between companies, research organisations and universities. Projects that pass the selection receive the SMART label, which opens the door to national public funding.
SMART does not pay grants itself. National or regional funders in each country support their own participants, as grants or loans, under their own rules. Participating countries listed for the call include Austria, Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Türkiye and the United Kingdom. Some countries have their own rules, for example on whether startups or large companies can receive funding.
A consortium needs at least two industrial companies from two different participating countries. No participant and no country may cover 70% or more of the budget. The project must be innovative, have a strong market focus and serve a civilian purpose.
Projects can address one or more of eight domains: next generation manufacturing processes, self adjusting intelligent production systems, safe and sustainable digitally designed products, digital and virtual company operations, human centred manufacturing, sustainable and circular production, customer focused manufacturing and new business models.
The call has two stages. Project outlines are due on 26 January 2027 at 11:00 CET. Invitations to send a full proposal follow on 12 March 2027, and full proposals are due on 15 April 2027. Selected projects receive the SMART label on 2 June 2027.
Quick answers

Can a project choose its own topic?
Yes. It is a bottom up call. Projects must fit the SMART technology roadmap, which covers areas such as new manufacturing processes, intelligent production systems, human centred and circular manufacturing, and new business models.
