Princeton CITP Fellows Program 2027 to 2028
Princeton's CITP Fellows Program offers fully funded, in person fellowships for 2027 to 2028 in tech policy, AI and security. Apply by 7 December 2026.
The Princeton CITP Fellows Program is a competitive, fully funded, in person program at the Center for Information Technology Policy at Princeton University. Fellows do research and policy work with faculty, scholars and other fellows. CITP works in three areas: platforms and digital infrastructure; data science, AI and society; and privacy and security.
There are three tracks. The postdoctoral track is for people who recently earned a Ph.D. or will earn one before the start date. The Visiting Research Scholar or Visiting Professional track is for academics and professionals with an advanced degree, such as lawyers, journalists, technologists and former government officials, who must be on leave from their job. The Microsoft Visiting Research Scholar or Visiting Professor track is for recognized academics in technology policy.
Postdoc appointments last one year and can be renewed each year, with a planned start on 1 September 2027. Visiting appointments last about nine months. All fellows are expected to work in person on the Princeton campus.
Applications for the 2027 to 2028 cycle opened on 14 October 2026. Submit by Monday, 7 December 2026, 11:59 p.m. EST for full consideration. Each track has its own online application, linked from the program page. You send a CV, a research statement and a cover letter. Visiting applicants also describe their salary needs and other funding during the fellowship.
The fellows committee starts reviewing applications in mid December. CITP looks for people whose work aims to understand and improve the relationship between technology and society.
