Jane Street Graduate Research Fellowship 2027
Jane Street covers a year of tuition and pays a $50,000 stipend to PhD students in computer science, maths, physics or statistics. Apply by 13 November 2026.
The Jane Street Graduate Research Fellowship 2027 supports PhD students in technical fields. Fellows get full tuition and fees covered for the coming academic year and a $50,000 stipend, or the same amount in local currency. Finalists receive $5,000.
PhD students with at least one year left in electrical engineering and computer science, mathematics, physics or statistics can apply. So can students who have committed to start such a PhD in fall 2027. The university must be in the US, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand or Singapore. International students are welcome. Current and former Jane Street employees cannot be fellows or finalists.
The application has three parts: a CV, a research statement of one to two pages for a general technical audience, and contact details for letter writers.
Applications close on 13 November 2026 and recommendation letters are due on 1 December 2026, both AoE. Award decisions come in February.
Jane Street says the research does not have to relate to trading, and nearby fields are welcome. Fellows are invited, but not required, to visit a Jane Street office to give a talk, with expenses paid.
