The NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship Program gives up to $60,000 per award for PhD research that advances accelerated computing. Applications for the 2027 to 2028 award year opened on 30 September 2026. The award is paid through the university.
Fellows work with NVIDIA researchers and must complete an in person summer internship at an eligible NVIDIA research office before the award year. The page lists offices in the United States, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Israel, Taiwan and Singapore.
Applicants must have finished their first year of PhD study in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a related field, and stay full time PhD students through the award year. International PhD students can apply.
To apply, submit a research proposal of up to two pages, a CV, two or three recommendation letters, one from the thesis advisor, and confirmation that you can do the internship. Everything, including the letters, is due on 30 October 2026. Winners are told on 15 January 2027.
NVIDIA judges applications on the quality of the student and of the research, and on relevance to NVIDIA, including possible influence on future GPUs. Research areas include generative AI, language models, robotics, computer architecture, graphics, security and quantum computing.
