goose grant program
The goose grant program pays $100,000 for a 12 month open source project that builds on the goose AI agent. Proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis.
The goose grant program funds open source work on goose, an open source AI agent first released by Block. Each grant is $100,000 USD for a project that lasts 12 months.
The program looks for work that follows goose's ideas of openness, modularity and user control. The page names new ways to interact with agents, long running autonomy, self improving agents and real world automation as areas of interest.
Individuals and small teams from any country can apply. The work must not already be funded by an employer or a client. Earlier open source experience helps but is not required.
Projects set clear deliverables and milestones. Payment is made every quarter against those milestones, and the goose team and selected outside reviewers check progress each quarter. Grants may be renewed, but this is not guaranteed, and a grant is not employment.
Apply with the Google form linked from the grants page. Proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis with no fixed deadline, though the page says that applying earlier improves your chances.
