Vinnova Innovative Startups 2026
Vinnova gives young Swedish companies up to SEK 500,000 to test customer needs and willingness to pay. The call opens 12 October 2026 and closes 12 January 2027.
Innovative Startups 2026 is a grant call from Vinnova, the Swedish innovation agency. It funds young companies that want to test customer needs, their business idea and willingness to pay, so that they get closer to the market. Companies can apply for a maximum of SEK 500,000.
The call is open to companies in all sectors. Vinnova says the company must be built on an innovative idea and on knowledge, skills, research, technology, methods, data or other assets that are hard to develop or copy. It looks for companies that can help sustainable development and create value in Sweden and abroad.
Only Swedish limited liability companies (aktiebolag) can apply. The company can be at most 10 years old, have at most 10 employees and at most SEK 10 million in net sales or balance sheet total. It must not have paid out any profit.
Vinnova moved the opening date to update the process. The call opens on 12 October 2026 and the last day to apply is 12 January 2027 at 14:00. Decisions come on 23 March 2027. Projects may start from 24 March 2027 and must start by 1 April 2027.
