Open Agent Hackathon 2026 is a fully online event on genai.works. Builders have 144 hours from October 15 to October 20, 2026 to make an agent that does useful work. Registration is free. It opened on August 14, 2026 at 00:00 UTC and closes on October 13, 2026 at 00:00 UTC. Submissions close on October 20, 2026 at 23:45 UTC. Results are due on October 30, 2026 at 16:00 UTC.
The prize pool is up to $20,000. First place is $8,000, second is $4,000, and third is $2,000. Teams may have one to five builders.
There are four tracks: agents that pull together scattered data, agents that investigate across sources, agents that keep memory across longer tasks, and agents built for a real industry job. The event is open worldwide to anyone aged 16 or older when the build window starts.
