The ML Empowerment Build Challenge 3.0 is an online challenge from the ML Empowerment Foundation. Students first work through a free curriculum, then build an AI project that addresses a real problem, with mentorship along the way. The listed prize pool is $34,200.
Cash awards go to the top ten projects. Every registered participant also gets platform credits and subscriptions worth $180 in total.
The challenge is open to students aged 13 and over. Companies and professional organisations cannot enter. Entrants from all countries and territories are welcome, with the standard exceptions listed in the rules.
Submissions opened on September 5, 2026 at 15:30 PDT and close on October 5, 2026 at 17:00 PDT. Judging runs from October 6 to October 11, and winners are announced on October 13, 2026 at 09:00 PDT.
