AWS Agents for Humans Hackathon 2026

The Agents for Humans Hackathon is an online hackathon run by Amazon Web Services on Devpost. It pays $40,000 in cash. Participants build an AI agent with the Strands Agents SDK that handles repetitive tasks.
There are three tracks: Everyday Agents for daily life, Professional Agents for work, and Good Neighbor Agents for the community. Each track pays $5,000 for gold, $3,000 for silver and $2,000 for bronze. One grand prize of $10,000 goes to the best project overall. Winners also get social media features and a roundtable with AWS.
The hackathon is open to individuals above the legal age of majority in their country, to teams and to organizations. Residents of a number of countries and territories cannot take part, among them Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the UAE. The full list is in the official rules. Employees of the organizers are excluded too.
Projects are submitted on the Devpost page. The submission period opened on August 10, 2026 and closes on September 14, 2026 at 5:00 pm Pacific Time. Judging runs until October 8, and winners are announced on or around October 14.
Judges score technical implementation, design, potential impact, creativity and the quality of the presentation.
